Amanda Dudley Milliner

With London Hat week and excitement of Royal Ascot, I have been on a bit of a Union Jack whim although I love when things just pop up under my nose and I love to share.
One Student at Kangan Institute who's work I loved was Amanda Dudley who I believe need a good look at for outstanding well made hats.  Her work is unique, distinctive and her pieces will be fabulous for races, weddings and occasions when you just want to make a statement or feel special.

British-born Amanda has been classically trained in traditional and modern millinery techniques, training in London at Kensington and Chelsea College, and in Melbourne with many highly regarded milliners. That focus on technique and quality really shows in her work, which is always immaculately executed with beautiful finishes.

In a short space of time, she has developed quite a name for herself, with her hats appearing in Italian Vogue and on the heads of celebrities. She is inspired by creative designers such as Alexander McQueen, Thierry Mugler and Vivienne Westwood, and finds influence from many years traveling through Europe, Asia and South America, drawing great inspiration from the rich colours and textures of the fabrics that are found there.

Each season she creates unique bespoke couture creations for her customers together with a ready to wear range. Her collections are full of on trend pieces, including geometrics, metallics and splashes of the seasons hottest colours, with no barriers to the materials used, a perfect match to catwalk favourites.
